Cara Cameron – Voice, Choral, Band and Wind Instruments
Cara Cameron is a life-long musician holding a BFA majoring in Vocal Performance and a B.Ed. from York University, as well as Honours Specialist Instrumental Music certification from Queen’s University.
She sings with Voices, an award-winning chamber choir in Toronto, and regularly performs as a soloist for local church and community events. She has appeared as a guest soloist for the Waterloo Chamber Players, The Orangeville Concert Singers, The New Tecumseth Singers, and the Orangeville Community Band, where she is also the assistant conductor and timpani player.
Ms. Cameron teaches piano from her home and also teaches music and art in the Upper Grand District School Board, where she directs a band, vocal ensemble, jazz band, and any other ensemble she can collect students for. Her student bands have won multiple gold standings at Musicfest at the regional and national level.
She is a recipient of the 2021 Loran Teachers Building Leaders Award. Passionate about music education, she is happiest in the middle of a musical venture—either her own or her students’—so she is very pleased to be a part of the ODMF team this year.
